Our Privacy, Legal, and Terms page covers all the necessary information you need to know about how we handle user information, privacy of cookies, volunteer requirements, and donating to We Care For Liberia. We want to provide transparency and clarity on our policies and practices to ensure trust and accountability with our users, website visitors, volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries. We are a South Carolina registered and certified South Carolina Non-Profit corporation with a diverse and talented Board of Directors. We have applied for our 501 C (3) status from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, and we abide by all US Laws and guidelines for non-profits.

Terms and Conditions of Donation

We Care For Liberia values donations of any size and is grateful for your contribution!

Donating to We Care For Liberia helps us to continue our mission of building schools, clinics, and improving communities in Liberia.

Privacy Policy

We Care For Liberia is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors. We do not share your donor details with anyone other than law enforcement when required by lawful order or subpoena, or for tax reporting purposes to the Internal Revenue Service of the US Federal government.

Refund Policy

We Care For Liberia does not offer refunds for donations. If WCFL finds that donations are from illegal sources, or those prohibited by the US government, we will not accept the donation, or we may elect to return it after the fact.

Tax Deductible

We Care For Liberia is a registered non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Internal Policy & Procedures

Guidelines and Policy for Donors and Grantors

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the We Care For Liberia. The We Care For Liberia organization will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the We Care For Liberia as stated in our by-laws and charter. You may review those documents with the Secretary of State of South Carolina. These documents are reviewed and reported to the Secretary of State annually. All documentation regarding income is reported to the IRS. Our goal is to provide 80-90% of funds directly to our projects and local efforts.


No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.


The We Care For Liberia will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.


The We Care For Liberia will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the We Care For Liberia.


Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for We Care For Liberia. WCFL will document and provide information regarding this classification of gift on request.


The We Care For Liberia will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by We Care For Liberia.


The We Care For Liberia will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the We Care For Liberia will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.


The We Care For Liberia will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders’ fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the We Care For Liberia.

At no time does We Care For Liberia practice discrimination based on gender, race, ethnic background, or financial status. Donations will not be accepted from any organization that does practice discrimination along those lines.

Volunteer Duties

All volunteers must attend an orientation session before starting their duties. Additionally, WCFL may impose requirements for certain skill sets that require some form of third party certifications such as a college degree, life experience, industrial training, provable job skills, or other such documentation or proof. Background checks on volunteers is mandatory.

Employee Expectations

All employees are expected to adhere to our code of conduct and follow all safety, privacy, and cultural protocols. This code of conduct is available by request. It includes such requirements as professional conduct for teachers and administrators, respect and inclusion, child welfare training and more.

Anti-Discrimination is a required training for ALL We Care For Liberia Inc. staff.

Confidentiality

We value the privacy of our donors, volunteers, and employees. WCFL does not sell or distribute personal donor information outside of WCFL. Student information is kept private and not distributed unless requested by parents or the student.

Reporting and Evaluation

We have a reporting and evaluation process in place to ensure accountability and continuous improvement. The WCFL Board is updated regularly by field Directors ,and operational team members.
