An unplanned Heartfelt Reunion at Wayman AME Church, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
My wife, Mother Irene M. Daniels, and I were blessed to return to historic Wayman AME Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as guest preacher. The warmth and hospitality of the congregation made us feel at home.
A Return to Familiar Grounds
After several years away, we were invited back by Pastor Anthony Galloway. It’s a church where I’ve preached for decades, and it was wonderful to reconnect with the congregants. They are wonderful people of God. This inter-racial congregation is one of the unique blending of believers in Christ.
Celebrating with Friends and Family
We were delighted to have several notable guests in attendance, including:
Rev. Dr. Alphonse Reff, the retired Presiding Elder, and his wife, Sister Janice Reff, former pastor and friends of ours over the years. The new Presiding Elder, brilliant sipirit-filled Rev. Dr. Stacey L. Smith, and her darling husband, brother Jeff Smith
My younger brother, Honorable Matthew Z. Daniels, who joined Wayman AME Church along with two others. My brother Joseph Daniels was there as well.
Reconnecting with Familiar Faces
We also had the pleasure of meeting and worshipping with my former members from Eliza Turner Memorial AME Church from Monrovia, Liberia, who had relocated to the United States after the civil war.
My wife best friend and bridesmaid Sister Snoti Wotorson was there with us as well.
A Joyous Spiritual Experience
The experience was truly special, and words can’t fully capture the emotions I felt. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this moment with you.
